NSW OFFICE OF BUILDING COMMISSIONER TRAINING VIDEOS

Floth’s Director and Sydney Office Manager, Tim Blaxland, recently collaborated with the NSW Office of the Building Commissioner, Western Sydney University and TAFE NSW, in the production of training videos for the Construct NSW Digital Learning Platform. The videos are in support of the NSW Office of the Building Commissioner’s two new courses on ethics and communication for the industry based on delivering trustworthy buildings. This are subjects that Floth is very passionate about and we welcomed the engagement of the NSW Office of the Building Commissioner with industry on this important issue.

Topics discussed in the videos included the importance of the delivery of trustworthy buildings with clear documentation, clear communication and breaking down information silos. Floth emphasised the need for project delivery teams to develop strong interpersonal relationships to ensure mutual respect and trust, thus enabling the free flow of information. Floth also discussed the use of technology as a tool to facilitate communication through improved clarity and traceability. Above all, we stressed the importance of maintaining a focus on achieving high quality outcomes for our clients throughout the project lifecycle.
