INTERNATIONAL WOMEN IN ENGINEERING DAY 2024
Yesterday we celebrated the 11th year of International Women in Engineering Day, brought to you by the Women’s Engineering Society (WES), a charity and professional network of women engineers, scientists and technologists offering inspiration, support and professional development.
#Enhancedbyengineering is this year’s theme, and WES have once again promoted the amazing work that women engineers across the globe are doing. WES are profiling the best, brightest and bravest women in engineering, who have #enhancedbyengineering people’s everyday lives and are helping to build towards a brighter future.
INWED provides a global platform to recognise and celebrate women engineers, who remain significantly underrepresented in the field. According to 2021 UK statistics, women make up only 16.5% of engineers. As a unique and vital initiative, INWED inspires and empowers young women and girls to pursue engineering careers, helping to bridge the gender gap and promote diversity in the industry.
Floth continues to advocate for greater gender diversity in engineering, encouraging women to explore this rewarding profession. Achieving equal representation would enrich the industry with diverse perspectives, creative solutions, and innovative approaches, ultimately better serving the community.
Floth is committed to fostering an inclusive work environment, celebrating the unique strengths and contributions of both genders, and reaping the benefits of a diverse and vibrant team. We proudly acknowledge and appreciate our talented female engineers and CAD team, who are paving the way for future generations of young women to follow in their footsteps:
